How we use cookies
We use a cookie to remember your choice and, if you allow it, Google Analytics to count visits. We don’t use cookies for advertising.
Your choice
When you click Accept or Reject, we store that choice in a cookie called soberread_consent. It stays on your device for six months and is only sent back to this site. It doesn’t contain your name or your email address.
Counting visits
If counting is on, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics. Analytics then sets its own cookies. The usual ones are called _ga and _ga_ followed by an id. Each lasts up to two years. They let us tell one browser from another, so we can see how many people visited and which pages they opened. We can’t see your name from them.
We don’t send Google your email address, the link to your product, or anything you typed into a form.
Where you are
If you’re in the UK, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland, we don’t count the visit until you click Accept. You’ll see a short notice with Accept and Reject. Neither is pre-selected.
Everywhere else, we count the visit from the first page. You can turn that off whenever you like.
We use the country our host, Cloudflare, already knows from the connection. We don’t store that country. If we can’t tell where you are, we wait for your choice, the same as we do in the UK.
How to change your mind
Use Cookie settings in the footer. Accept and Reject are the same size. Your new choice replaces the old one for six months. You can also clear cookies in your browser.
