Who it’s for

It’s for someone who has an idea and nothing live yet. You don’t need a website, a prototype, or a company. If the product is already on the web, a Snapshot or a Teardown is the better fit.

What you get

One PDF, emailed within 48 hours of payment. The length depends on what the idea needs. The verdict comes first, and it is backed by sources. It is go, conditional go, or no-go. A no-go is a real outcome. An expert reviews the report before we send it.

The report then covers:

  • The pain, and the evidence that people want this, each with a source and the date we read it.
  • Competitors, and the prices they list.
  • Technical limits: what is hard to build, or hard to run.
  • What we think you should charge.
  • A forecast with three cases: conservative, base, and optimistic, and the assumptions behind each one.
  • What a first version should include, and a rough estimate of the effort.
  • Risks.
  • Sources we couldn’t check.

The three cases are not a promise of what you will earn. Where a figure is our judgement, we say so. If a page we needed wouldn’t open, it goes in the list of sources we couldn’t check.

How to order

  1. Tell us the idea, who it’s for, and the market or country. A planned price and any competitors you already know are optional.
  2. You pay £19.99, including VAT, on Stripe. We never see your card details.
  3. We look for evidence and write down the source and the date we read it.
  4. An expert reviews the report. We email the PDF within 48 hours of payment.

If you build it

If you go on to build the product, the £19.99 counts towards a Teardown later. A Teardown is the full report on a live product, at £49.99 including VAT.

Timing, price, and the 14-day promise

The price is £19.99, including VAT. It is a single payment, in pounds. The PDF arrives within 48 hours of payment.

If a figure is wrong, or the report doesn’t help you decide, tell us within 14 days and we’ll correct it or refund the fee. The report is research and opinion. It can’t promise the idea will work. See the refunds page.

Questions

Do I need a website?
No. Idea Check is for an idea with no product and no website yet. If the product is already live, buy a Teardown instead.
What does the verdict mean?
Go means the evidence supports building it. Conditional go means build it only if you can meet the conditions in the report. No-go means we would not build it on this evidence.
Is the forecast a promise?
No. We set out three cases, conservative, base and optimistic, and we write down the assumptions. Those cases are not a promise of what you will earn, and this is not financial advice.
Who checks the report?
An expert reviews each report before we send it. Every claim still links to a source you can open.
If I build it, do I pay the full Teardown price?
The £19.99 counts towards a Teardown later. The Teardown itself is £49.99 including VAT, for a product that is live.
