Your privacy
We only keep what we need to write and send your report. There’s no account, we never see your card number, and nothing about your product is published without your written consent.
What we keep
- Your email address.
- A link to your product, or a short description if it isn’t live yet.
- Your line on what isn’t working, and who it’s for if you told us.
- That you confirmed you own or run the product.
- That you agreed we could start straight away.
- Whether you’re happy for us to ask about a public teardown. This box starts unticked.
- For a paid order: the plan, the price, an order reference, and whether Stripe says it was paid or refunded.
Why
We use it to write your Snapshot or report, match your payment to your order, and email you the result. Resend delivers those emails.
Who else sees it
Stripe handles payment, so it sees your email and card details. We never receive your card number.
Resend sends the emails: a confirmation when we receive a Snapshot request, an order confirmation, the report itself, and a note if we refund you. To deliver them, Resend processes your email address and the message, including the report when we attach it. Resend does not take payment and does not see your card.
We keep a record of each email we sent, so the same confirmation is not sent twice. Your details are stored in a database we control. When you send a request, a copy also goes to an inbox we check, so we can start the work.
Google Analytics counts visits when that’s allowed. It doesn’t receive your email address or what you typed into a form. The cookie notice says when counting is on.
Confidentiality
We don’t publish your idea or your product details, and we don’t use them to train AI models. Nothing about your product is posted in public without your written consent, and you’d see a draft first. Ticking “you can contact me about a public teardown” isn’t that consent. To have your details deleted, email hello@soberread.com from the address you used and say so.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we need them to write the report, handle any refund, and keep count of how many requests and orders come in. If you ask us to delete them, we will, apart from what Stripe has to keep about the payment itself.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising cookies. We do use analytics cookies to count visits, but only when the cookie notice says so. In the UK, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland we wait until you accept. Elsewhere, counting is on until you reject it from Cookie settings in the footer.
When you come back from Stripe, your browser holds your order reference for that visit (this is called session storage) so the thank-you page can find it. It’s cleared when you close the tab, or you can clear it yourself.
